Performance in Athletics

"There is one thing I know about my sport: The track and the iron will always be there for me; as tools toward achievement, discipline and reward.

What I’ve found out over this winter break-
-Working in an ice rink (any low level service position) sucks. I wish I had a license to punch stupid people, it would save a fair share of problems.
-It’s great to come back and hang out with my best friends, we are possibly the most awesome group on earth. We haven’t really changed and it’s more fun that way.
-It’s much easier to keep to workouts at home with a lifting partner. For once I feel like I actually got better as a track athlete on my “vacation”
-Growing up means your problems become more expensive, cue 1100 dollar tires.
-I need more real world, meaning any, medical experience. Before I spend the next 10 years in school, residency and fellowship along with at least a quarter million in debt.
-I have no idea whether I should get a job this summer while taking 15 credits, or try to get in to a hospital to shadow a doctor. Either I’m broke all summer, or remain without medical experience.
-All in all a good winter break. Never very relaxing but good none the less. Next stop, spring break!

2 days until my 21st! Sooo pumped! Now what to do tonight/tomorrow?

A trip to Mclendons, some PVC, bolts, scrap wood, and a couple hours later I have a finished 42” college hurdle!  View high resolution

Mathews beach=awesome just dunno what to do for the rest of the day!

Back from

Chelan, pretty good trip with lots of boat problems lol. Got home, found out my $400 set of tires doesn’t fit and then I pressure washed the driveway? This whole working 12 hours a week thing is killing me! I don’t know what the eff to do!

Boat

Took my brother’s new boat out on the water today! It will definitely do the job! After a dead battery, and waiting 20 min in the water while my brother got a new one it worked great! Excited for Chelan this weekend, gonna be crazyy!

Upper Body

Who ever thought 3x12 bench at 135lbs would be hard? 1 min rest says it’s hard haha. Feels good today, upper body went very well. Body weight is 168.2lbs. post training and dinner. I’m looking at my body weight log from last year, and on June 22nd (the first time I recorded my weight) I was at 161.8, my low was 159.8 on June 29th of last year. So this year I’m starting out somewhere around 8lbs heavier, about same body fat %, and I feel less broken. Already starting out well, trying to get above 170 ASAP!

The heaviest I was recorded at last summer was 169.2 in early August, with most other measurements in the 167’s, so I’m way above last summer yayyy!

Finished product! From 5 feet you cant tell that they were painted. Very happy! View high resolution
